NAUTE DAM

The turnoff to the Naute Dam is signposted on the B4 32km west of Keetmanshoop, from where it is approximately 18km to the dam.  Situated in the Lowen River, a tributary of the Fish River, the dam has a capacity of 84 million m3. The dam in glorious surroundings is popular with water sports enthusiasts and freshwater anglers.

The Naute Dam is Namibia’s third largest dam and provides Keetmanshoop with all its water, in addition to providing water for some small scale irrigation.
